"McCoy Park provides 2 different levels of playgrounds, a large splash pad, multiple picnic tables, and shelters. The playgrounds have many slides that are accessible for adults should your little ones need your assistance. The park is well-maintained and cleaned. It also has long sidewalks for walking, plenty of benches, picnic tables, and great playgrounds for kids. It is an awesome park with a lot of green space and a friendly atmosphere. A picnic shelter and a splash park are available. You can spend your free time with your friends or family members. The surrounding environment of the park makes your mind calm. Both playgrounds have Wheelchair accessible swing chairs available.

2026 Highlights: McCoy Park also features a Miracle League baseball field with a smooth, level playing surface, helping children and individuals of all abilities enjoy baseball in a more accessible and inclusive environment."

MCCOY PARK REVIEWS

They have 2 different levels of playgrounds, a large splash pad, multiple picnic tables and shelters, as well as grills. The playground for younger kids has a mommy/baby swing. Both playgrounds have handicap accessible swing chairs. They also have a practice baseball diamond and an area to play horseshoes! The picture in the Google description is inaccurate as that playground was removed years ago. I will try to get pictures of the "new playgrounds" that were built when that one was removed. Love this park because I have friends with kids of all ages so there is appropriate sized equipment for everyone! Also they have a rubber ground around both playgrounds, not wood chips. The restrooms are always unlocked during the day.

Spent several hours on both playgrounds loved it. Loved how it's fenced in makes u feel better when lots of kids running around, knowing there is only one way out gives you a better way to feel relaxed.

I love coming to McCoy Park!!! My kids always have fun here, even after labor day when the water will no longer be on!!! They love to play on the equipment, upper and lower playgrounds!!! We often grill here and make it a family day!!! We will enjoy coming here for years to come!!! I am sure of it.

HILL PARK PAVILION REVIEWS

Very nice park great for kids, skateboard park across the creek. Nice pavilion which can be reserved for parties and such. Laying down follow this park in my opinion is no electricity to even charge your phone and such. Except on special occasions or maybe weekends I think Independence could afford to leave it a couple of outlets on 24/7 so a person could charge their phone. People that don't drive that's their only connection to the world other than foot traffic or bicycling which is sometimes not near quick enough for circumstances in these trying times.

Great little park I’ve been going to for over 40 years. Watch your children over by the creek and across the bridge by the skate park. No shortage of drug addicts posing as homeless people hanging around..

This park is a very nice little park. We are having our T- Ball hear today and it couldn't be better. This is a big play area for the kids and lots of open area! There are also a few picnic tables around the park also.

WATERFALL PARK REVIEWS

Great place for walking, outdoor parties with shelter & lots of shade from tree's, fishing, walking your dog, restroom, watching every size turtle sun themselves on tree limbs in the ponds, also a small deck that overlooks the lake. I found a baby turtle that was 1 1/2 inches. That's a first for me. It was basking in the sunshine on the walking path, a playground, benches here and there along the walking paths, a place where you have 4 bridge rails along the path to choose a place to put a lock of love of you & your beloved, one is where the waterfall is. Just check it out, you'll be happy you did.

Beautiful park! Lots of shade. Waterfall in my pictures is a street view waterfall so watch for traffic. Huge pond for fishing and a small dock as well. Lots of ducks and geese. Walking/bike trails as well. Lots of greenery. Was pretty quiet for being busy so that’s always nice in my opinion.

One of my favorite parks in the area. Nice walking trails. Lots of wildlife. Bring your dog they enjoy it too. All seasons.
