3 Best Public Parks in Simi Valley, CA

I went to Rancho Madera Park to scout out a location for a family picnic. It is a beautiful park, lots of open space, two playground areas with structures, two restroom facilities, and a large set of pavilions that have picnic tables and grills. There are a number of basketball courts as well as tennis courts. There is a bit of shade here and there, and the picnic tables are covered, but for the most part this is wide open space, so come prepared for a lot of sun. This is a great family park to have a party or event, or to exercise at one of the courts. It is not primarily a walking park, it has some sidewalks but no real trails.

Beautiful park! It has awesome basketball courts and a fun playground for the kids. There are also tennis courts, volleyball courts and a ton of open space and sidewalks/trails for walking. Additionally there is a lot of grassy open space. There is plenty of parking and everything seems to be very well kept.

Love this park. Located in Wood Ranch area of Simi Valley. Has play area equipment for children, tennis courts, sand volleyball court, basketball courts and walking paths. Large grass areas to play in. Also has baseball and soccer playing fields. Parking lots usually handle average traffic flow. Two public restroom facilities for park use. Public events also held at this location throughout the year. Many are free.

This is a gorgeous setting. There are lots of old growth trees like pines and oaks that provide ample shade. There is a great playground for kids to play on. The park also has giant boulders that are great to climb on with lots of fun spaces to hide in. As well, there are restrooms that were clean when I visited the park. The park is next to railroad tracks which is fun to see trains pass by. The park also has a museum attached to it that has many historical facts and time period pieces inside. The museum also has a scale model of the surrounding area which is fun to observe. This really is a great place for families to visit.

This park is beautiful. The restrooms are clean and have soap! The play area is perfect for kids and the rock formations are fun for older kids to climb. Went to the park and really enjoyed it with my 20 month old! Quiet, lots of trees (shade), picnic tables, and the playground's enjoyable for both baby and me.
