3 Best Residential Architects in Concord, CA

I converted a study room in my three cars garage without a building permit years ago. It was always been my goal to legalize it but didn’t have time and energy to do it until my retirement now. I didn’t have any idea as where to start the project. I joined a Facebook ADU Group and started learning about the permit and construction process. It was suggested that I should start finding an architect to draw up a design plan and submit it to the City for approval. I read through many reviews and found Wafaa at waArchitecture + Design for she had great reviews and the professionalism I was searching for. Wafaa helped me designed and received building permit for converting my existing garage room and laundry space into a 270 square foot JADU of one bedroom. Waffaa was responsive, patient, and flexible during the design phase. What impressed me the most was that her and her team’s speed of correspondence. There were no revision requested from the City and my JADU design plan was submitted the first week of February and was approved by the City of Fremont at the end of April. We have a very old home with a difficult layout. The previous owner had finished the basement without a permit, and the work was poor enough that we had water coming into the house. We hired Wafaa to produce a design that fixes the awkward layout of our home, increases the size of our deck, and connects the two floors with an internal staircase. She handled the structural engineering as well as the permit running. We think she did an excellent job, and we felt that the resulting plan was very exciting. We had clear communication throughout the design process, and since she handled the permits for us, really made things easy. Please, if you love your sanity, have her handle the permit running. We're in the middle of our build right now, but I'll come back and post some pictures when we're done!
