My husband and I had a great time working with Mollie on the design of our custom home. It was a challenging project - we wanted the house (located on a former tobacco farm) to look like a traditional North Carolina farm house, but we also wanted it to be a passive solar design, and a house where we could "age in place". Mollie took all of our ideas, added a huge dose of her own creativity and talent, and designed a house that we adore. Throughout, she was a pleasure to work with. I wish I could design ten more houses with her.
We recently purchased a charming new bungalow style home designed by SoliDeo. The huge wrap around porch is such a show stopper that people slow down when they drive by to stare. Not a detail was overlooked in the design of this house, from its orientation on the lot to the wiring of surround sound speakers. We love Mollie Ackner's work so much that we have hired SoliDeo to help us finish the basement!
