I was looking for a waterfront lot to build a contemporary home on. After finding a suitable property which was barely within the budget reach, I discovered that it was significantly impacted by a wetland (aka- a swamp), which wasn’t properly disclosed in the marketing documents. Following weeks of mitigation research and frustration, I was about to forgo making an offer on the property. Days later, (with a small plat, some yellow onion skin and a red pencil), Michael convinced me that we could design and build a home around the wetland, which would also provide a privacy buffer. It was a great idea. Once we headed down this path, (and selected our builder-- Eric Davis/Bauen Group), it was further apparent that we had turned what appeared to be an impediment into an opportunity. In spite of this major land restriction, Michael and his team did a fantastic job designing and building a beautiful, unique home, which adapts perfectly within the site, while the wetland (and future bog garden) adds another dynamic water feature, and even more value. We love our new home.

Michael and his team are extremely talented, yet humble at the same time. Professionals in every sense of the word. I highly recommend Michael to anyone for any project.

Kersting Architecture does amazing contemporary residential architecture. Each home is amazing. I enjoy working with them very much.

I was planning a complete renovation on an office building downtown. It was challenging because I wanted a modern building in an area that is partly historical. I wanted the building to be beautiful and functional. I drove around and looked at commercial space around town. I really liked Tek Mountain and some other places in the Mayfaire area I went inside the places I really liked. I asked who did the architecture and design work. The answer was always the same: David Lisle. I met with David and described my vision. Within a week or two I had elevations and then floor plans. We made modifications quickly and easily. He was available all through the construction process. He picked paint, carpet, flooring and materials with my participation. In my opinion, the building looks incredible inside and out. The layout is functional and efficient and almost entirely maintenance free. David did an absolutely incredible job. My clients and employees love it. That is important to me. I am looking at another project now. If we proceed, David will be my first call.

David is an amazing architect. As the Pella Window and Door rep for NC I work with a lot of architects, and David does amazing work. Laura is one of the sweetest people you'll meet too. I would highly recommend Lisle Architecture & Design.

His art in his architecture draws nature in while nurturing your soul on the inside. Opening you up while keeping you safe. Thank you for the opportunity that you lent to increase my own imagination in the realm of architecture.

I didn't know I could get so much more by just letting the architect do the thinking. Kevin added value to our home by creating an unique space that totally fits our lifestyle. Tricky lot size and shape, beautiful Live Oak tree we wanted to save and a great view. He nailed it.

An amazingly thoughtful and thorough architect! Rarely do you find someone with so much expertise who is easy to talk to AND takes the time to walk you through the details.
