“Dr. Ernest H. Agatstein is a board-certified urologist who graduated Summa Cum Laude and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honor society at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he also obtained his medical degree. During his time at UCLA, he was admitted to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. His extensive medical training includes a surgical internship, general surgery training, and urologic surgery residency at the UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Agatstein is certified and recertified by the American Board of Urology and holds the distinction of being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is an active member of the American Urological Association. He served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Urology for over three decades at UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine until 2019. Dr. Agatstein has also held the position of Chief of Staff at Centinela Hospital Medical Center and Chief of Urology at Centinela Hospital and PIH Downey. His professional involvement extends to his role as a urological consultant to the Medical Board of California and a qualified medical examiner (QME) for the State of California Workers Compensation Program. Dr. Agatstein's areas of specialized expertise encompass surgical management of urologic cancers, penile implants, female urology, urinary incontinence, and neuro-urology. He is particularly interested in treating overactive bladder with InterStim, an innovative neuromodulation therapy. He actively participates in clinical trials to evaluate novel treatments for overactive and underactive bladder conditions. He is one of the founding members of Genesis Healthcare.
