“Dr. Domenico Savatta completed an intensive six-year residency program in urology at the prestigious Indiana University Medical Center. Certified by the American Urological Association and recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Savatta focuses primarily on treating conditions such as enlarged prostate (BPH), prostate cancer, and various urologic cancers. Affiliated with renowned medical facilities like Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. He was among the first to perform numerous robotic surgeries and holds the distinction of being the first DaVinci robotic instructor in the northeast to conduct the inaugural televised robotic surgery for kidney cancer. His contributions to the field are evident in published papers with national leaders, detailing techniques for robotic inguinal hernia surgery during robotic prostatectomy and robotic partial nephrectomy for kidney cancer. He introduced transperineal prostate sampling as a replacement for prostate biopsy in diagnosing prostate cancer and pioneered a new type of robotic prostatectomy called space of retzius sparing prostatectomy.
