I have struggled with addiction for almost 15 years. I went to many rehabs in Texas & California. Homeward Bound was the first rehab/detox I went to. They used to give you Ativan when withdrawing from alcohol or drugs. That's a Godsend and that's the SAFE way to do it. Homeward Bound stopped doing that - they take you off everything, even medication for your heart, blood pressure, antidepressants, even seizures. The new doctors are sadists. Then I discovered Nexus. What a breath of fresh air! Helpful and safe detox - they give you a full week in a separate building before starting you in the dorms. It's weird to say, but I loved it! The doctors, the "techs", the teachers, they even have a program for people who lost their ID'S, birth certificates, etc (as many of us addicts do). They have a program to help you get housing and job too! It's like a big family. I actually went twice. You have to be ready to quit. If you truly are ready for real, Nexus is the place. I finally got sober after 15 years. I am now over 2 years sober and I still talk to people from Nexus. Parkland's mobile bus also comes so that you can get real help right away, if you have urgent medical issues. As of 2022 they offered MAT, which is Suboxone. Nexus is so great, there's usually a waiting list, but you can show up in person (go EARLY), they'll interview you and if they think they can help - then you can get in. Anyone reading this..if I can do this, so can you! Be stubborn and don't let addiction win. Do whatever you have to to get here.

I can honestly say Nexus and the staff saved my life. If you are struggling with any kind of addiction or mental health issues these amazing counselors will know how to help. They have so many resources during and after treatment to get you on the right path.

Great Experience, a great place to get sober and learn about who you are. You will meet other great people. The staff is so amazing, they care and are super patient. The food is great. If you're looking for a great place to detox, to get sober or somewhere just to get a new start then Nexus is it.

Henry Mack, is an amazing person. Trustworthy, easy going. Easy to talk too. Brian keel is great at breaking down the big book. Lauren my therapist is amazing, easy going amazing listener. Will is great at getting results and an a great listener Nicci my house manager is AWESOME!!! She's just BADASS. Caring, nurchering, I trust her 100,%. I can go to her for any reason. Very resourceful. Every one at DPR has been very helpful in my recovery and maintaining my sobriety. For that I am grateful.

This is a great facility!! I appreciate the individual attention I have received, as a parent. Will and Bryan have assisted my son and put my mind at ease when hard situations arose. I am so thankful for the help and support my son has receiving from Discovery Point Retreat...The whole team is so great.

I've been at Discovery Point Retreat for 4 months and I couldn't have picked a better place to go for recovery. I've stayed in 3 of their sober living houses, under 2 house managers and 5 peer leads.
