Treatment "recommendations" (mandates) are excessive for first time offenders with no prior history of problems with substance abuse. They will select indicators of problem areas regardless of individual circumstances, with shoddy reasoning for such areas. If you contest their views in any way, you will be accused if bullying and being defensive, and your input receives ZERO consideration. If you have been involved in the legal system, you WILL be diagnosed with a problem, and their "non intensive" counseling is 4x per week for 16-20 weeks. During that time, they will watch you provide a urine sample, require abstinence of ALL non-prescribed substances, even if you have not received probation, which is highly invasive. IMO, numbers are their concern as opposed to what is right for an individual.

It works if you work it.ght I would share my "unadulterated" thoughts on Helio Health. First of all, lets start with rehab in general. It's a horribly uncomfortable process that will eventually save your life. This being said, its pretty easy to have a negative view of any organization while you are 30 days or less from a drug or a drink. I have found Helio Health to have an abundance of resources for one to obtain sobriety and restart their life. In just the last 80 days I have been able to get my head screwed on straight, remain sober, fix broken relationships and obtain a pathway to success in every area of my life. Physically, mentally, spiritually the tools were there to obtain. It was up to me to accept that no "program" or rehab is going to be perfect and my life transformation was up to me. It was my job to use the assets given to my advantage and Helio Health had plenty to offer that were much different than my prior rehab experiences! Although staffing any business can be tough.

I'm with the Downtown Syracuse location. I've been with them for a couple months and I find the great. Only thing I wish would change is how often I can see my therapist. I would like to be weekly but at biweekly. I will do another post as I go along.
