Did a Google search for good fried chicken in Savannah and this place popped up. They have an all you can eat lunchtime buffet (they also have a la carte), we signed up for that treat. There's some pretty good fried chicken and all the things you'd expect to go with a southern feast. We rolled out of the place. There's more to The Pirate House than the food, it's appropriately themed and decorated. There's history (and ghosts too by all accounts), there was a pirate (Jack Black-Beard) meeting, greeting, and having fun with the diners. The server Billy was excellent, so friendly and helpful, he gave us some good local advice, and could not have been nicer. They have a gift shop with some little treasures. It was the whole experience (and the very good chicken), that made our visit memorable.
Awesome place on must do list when visiting Savannah to eat the Southern Lunch Buffet daily 11:00-3:00 pm. Comes with Okra, Green Beans, Mac in Cheese, Sweet Potato, Collard Greens, Corn, Baked Chicken, Fried Chicken, Pork, Fried Tilapia. You get a taste of everything and Fried Chicken is not on their menu. The staff are so kind to allow you to look around the tunnels, captain’s room, gift shop etc. Fun place to explore.
A fun good experience. As a savannah ga land mark it's definitely worth stopping here for a meal. I highly recommend getting reservations as the walk up times seem to be loooong. The service was very good. The over all vibe was great. The fried chicken was very good. The crusted trout was excellent. I personally really enjoyed my shrimp and grits. Over all a fun dinning experience, definitely made better by going there with family.
