3 Best Assisted Living Facilities in Independence, MO

Sales rep very enthusiastic about Parkway. She had excellent presentation. My reasons for not choosing The Parkway are the levels of care with points added for increased care and increased fees. It may be helpful to see a list of basic care criteria and points assigned to various care tasks. Being apprised of care points and actually seeing the point values and how they increase would be helpful. Amy Steinbeck asked many questions about Jerry, my husband, to understand our needs. I think if I had chosen The Parkway, we would have entered at a high care level and we would have maxed out on points and costs in a short time. Amy is a valuable ambassador for The Parkway.

My mom lives here and they are very nice apartments and even have a restaurant style kitchen and eating area. The food is really good and free to residents, well it is included in their rent. They have free laundry service. The staff are friendly.

Amy showed my father and I around. The Parkway was very clean and felt comfortable to us right away. Everyone there was very friendly and said Hello! I think my father will enjoy his time here. I feel good with Dad living here.

Our mother has been at Cedarhurst since January and has adjusted nicely to the change. We looked at a lot of places, viewed the state inspections for each facility, and Cedarhurst seemed the best fit. We've met a lot of the staff and are always greeted warmly with our questions and concerns being attended to. The activity directory Lexi seems to always be busy with the residents and really seems to enjoy her job. In the evenings, Mona greets us as we come in and always lets us know how our mom is doing. She always has a smile and is one of mom's favorites. Dave in maintenance has been real helpful, and patient! It's a tough transition but Cedarhurst is making it easier.

Cedarhurst is an amazing community! Casey helped us so much to get patients moved in quickly! All of our patients are so happy and very well taken care of. I would highly recommend Cedarhurst to anyone looking to move their loved one to Assisted Living.

Very clean, nice facility! It does not give “old folks home” vibes AT ALL when you walk in, no odd smells, doesn’t feel sad. it’s beautiful, modern and kept up well. We have gone to the annual trunk or treat the last few years and it is always so sweet. We would love to see more community events like that! The activities director Alexus Wily is amazing and puts so much thought and care into all she does for the residents! The residents will say so themselves.
