One of the benefits of my job is a free hour with an attorney. After the passing of my wife in January and trying to figure out Virginia's estate laws, I gave up and was very lucky to get an appointment with Mr. Wade. His office was very easy to find, the office atmosphere was quiet but busy and the receptionist was very nice. I arrived a bit early and was actually seen before my scheduled time. Mr. Wade answered all of my questions along with explaining why the Virginia code worked the way it did. He gave me advice on what to look out for, as widows and widowers are often prime targets for fraud and such during this time. With the information I provided, his recommendation was not to go to probate (which matched the information from my own research too.) After an hour I knew what my next steps would be and felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I felt he was very honest and was straightforward about whether or not I needed to continue to see him. He could have easily racked up additional hours but didn't do anything of the sort. We finished up, he gave me his business card and let me know that if I had any questions to please contact him.
