“Dr. James G. Brooks, Jr. completed his undergraduate degree in 1983 at LSU Baton Rouge and his medical degree at the LSU Medical Center in Shreveport in 1987. In addition, he completed an internship and residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He is a fellowship-trained Cornea/Anterior Segment Specialist, completing the additional training at Flinders Medical Centre in Adelaide, South Australia, in 1992. He was President of the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology, the Muscogee County Medical Society, the Delegate to the Medical Association of Georgia, and the Georgia Councilor to the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. James G. Brooks is Columbus's most experienced anterior segment surgeon, receiving patients across the region. He is particularly interested in treating transplantation, cataracts, and laser refractive surgery. He practices at West Georgia Eye Care Center.”
