"Phinizy Swamp Nature Park is a destination that approximately covers an area of 1,100 acres. The park contains wetlands and woodlands, a campus for water research and environmental education, and a visitor center. The park also features the Beaver Dam Trail, which starts just beyond the silos and picnic pavilion. The park features a bridge that passes through the woods, a floodplain boardwalk and observation deck, a pond trail, a rain garden deck and boardwalk, wetland cells, and a wind shear tower. Phinizy Swamp Nature Park also has many bald cypresses draped in Spanish moss and forests of loblolly trees. Visitors can enjoy beautiful views of various birds commonly found at Phinizy Swamp. They can also find red-shouldered hawks, great blue herons, sora, wood ducks, and bald eagles.

2026 Update: Phinizy Swamp Nature Park offers free general admission and trial access for all visitors. It also offers science facility classes and events."

"Pendleton King Park is a developed and traditional 64-acre bird sanctuary of great topographic diversity with pine forests, sand ridges and marshes. The park has a well-equipped playground that offers a wide range of opportunities for physical activity and is an excellent place for a picnic. The trail is a gem located in the centre of the greater Augusta area and houses various gardens and natural resources. Pendleton King Park even affords some recreational activities, including new playgrounds, an 18-hole disc golf course, and tennis courts. Visitors can also get the rich history of the park. The park has a covered pavilion area for music and events. The dog park area is large and shaded with sides for large and small dogs. The Pendleton King Park Foundation is a private 501 (C) 3 non-profit organization that works with the Augusta Recreation and Parks Department and other community organizations to support and enhance the park.

"Grovetown Trails at Euchee Creek includes a 1.7-mile loop trail, which is generally considered an easy route. This takes an average of 34 minutes to complete the entire trail. This is the perfect spot for birding, running, and walking. The trail has a paved parking lot off Harlem Grovetown Road at the start of the trail, with designated accessible parking spaces and 3 striped access aisles. The trail surface is paved/boardwalk and typically at least five feet wide. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of nature within a relaxed environment. Grovetown Trails at Euchee Creek also includes a clean, shaded paved trail that loops around Old Granite Quarry Lake. The park also features public restrooms and numerous picnic tables for hikers.
