'Franklin Mountains State Park' is the largest city wilderness area in the western United States, with mountains ranges that chronicle 1.25 billion years of world history. Park consists of approximately 26,000 acres of wilderness and provides outstanding hiking, bird watching, paragliding, rock climbing opportunities, and use as a school for children aged 1 to 99. The park exists as a fantastic location for family reunions, fitness training grounds with more than 100 miles of trail across the lawn, bridging classroom discussions with the tangible qualities of nature, as a tranquil getaway from the area. Tourists can enjoy the weather with temperatures ranging from winter months, 32F to 60F, and summer temperature ranges ranging from 68F to 95F. It covers nearly 27,000 acres (approximately 40 square miles) on over 100 miles of trail. Guided tours and hikes are available for the first and third weekends of each month. It affords a free path for children aged 1 to 9.

Hueco Tanks State Historic Site covering more than 860 acres, this park is named for the large rock basins that have supplied water for many centuries to this desert-like area. Park provides ancient rock imagery guided and self-led tours, plus picnic sites and twenty campsites. The park shop sells gifts and other products at its headquarters. Over 70 guests are visiting the North Mountain area every day. The historic site also boasts camping, biking, and some of the state's best bouldering and rock climbing. You can watch incredible ancient traces, climb the ricks with the kids in this place and get lots of knowledge about nature and 10,000 years of human history.

Chuck Heinrich Memorial Park offers indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities to people of all ages so that they can develop skills, socialize, and experience nature. There is a small portion of foothills running east/west, which you can see clearly from the top of the dam. The park has children's playgrounds and plenty of grass for your dogs. The entire park is protected by a trail and another leading up to the mountain range for hiking and biking. It's connected to trails and spectacular views of the mountains.
