"Wissahickon Valley Park is 2,042 acres of the canyon, with crossing trees and pastures before plunging into the sun-drenched waters. The elevation gain of the trail is 225 meters, and it is a loop trail. This trail is generally considered easy. It is also one of the last remaining examples of the many roadhouses and taverns. This nature spot is designated as an important birding area by the National Audubon Society. Wissahickon Valley Park also features more than 50 miles of often rugged trails that crisscross the park. Visitors can use the trails for off-road biking or horseback riding and explore the beauty of nature.

2026 Update: The trail system includes multiple access points, clear signage, and interconnected routes. Most paths are unpaved with uneven terrain and moderate elevation changes, making appropriate footwear recommended. Trail maps and signage are available to assist with navigation. Permits are required for access to upper trails designated for off-road biking and horseback riding. Wissahickon Valley Park spans approximately 1,800 acres and features an extensive network of trails that pass through forest and meadow landscapes alongside Wissahickon Creek."
