TOP 3 WISSAHICKON VALLEY PARK REVIEWS
Wissahickon Valley Park is now our favorite trail in the Philadelphia area. The long trails allow you to truly appreciate the the well-preserved nature. We particularly enjoyed sitting near the water on the rocks. The friendly passersby, including the adorable pets, make the experience a very enjoyable one Dog-friendliness: We spotted many leashed dogs while on the trail.
Good place for hiking especially with small kids. Not a tough trail at all, especially with kids. It was very crowded during the weekend, we didn't get the allotted parking lots but instead had to find parking on the narrow hill road side. It didn't feel like the water is clean but a lot of people were enjoying in the water and grilling, family time on the river/stream shores. A little rugged but you can chose to stay on the not at all rugged paved roads, we did a combination of both it was worth it.
Scenic Park with a nice trail, you can find Philly's first drinking water fountain constructed in 1836.

TOP 3 JOHN HEINZ NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE AT TINICUM REVIEWS
Incredible nature preserve accessible from the city! I took the 37 bus to and from the Refuge and it could not have been easier. We spotted over 20 species of birds and enjoyed our walk on the well maintained trails. Awesome for a day full of nature just outside of the city! Restrooms: Regular trench toilets at the trailhead, but nicely maintained and relatively clean!
is is one of my favorite places to go when I have an hour and a half to 2 hours to kill. The main loop around the water is fantastic mixture of wetland that is being conserved and maintained properly. The refuge is a huge asset to the people of Philadelphia and any visitors that come hour away. Don't miss it!
Great birdwatching, nice well maintained trails, and plenty of parking. Highly recommend! Good for walking and fresh air.

TOP 3 PENNYPACK PARK REVIEWS
I absolutely love walking through Penny pack especially early in the morning when nobody is really there because when it's beautiful outside sometimes you have people who party by the waterfall and make it look not so pretty but in the morning when no one's there and no one's partying there and there's no trash it's the most beautiful place to see I love walking on the path and the trials thankfully someone put trail markers on the trees that was thankful thank you to whoever did that
I love pennypack park. In summer time we go cycling and hiking along with our dog. Lots of people come to fishing and relaxing. Fall comes with beautiful scenery and so is spring with flowers and waterfalls. You can enjoy this place year round. You cant miss it.
Love finding neat little spots with big open fields and old structures. Spent a morning people and dog watching with my kid reading random books from the little free library. It was beautiful.
