“Koresh School of Dance hosts over twenty adult drop-in dance classes Monday through Saturday. Dance classes are offered in a variety of styles and catered to novice movers, professional dancers, and everyone in between. Their instructors are widely regarded as some of the best in the city. They also have a children's program with classes for youth ages 4-18, which was named Best of Philly 2007 by Philadelphia Magazine. Koresh School of Dance provides community members with a chance to learn and express themselves through dance. “2026 Update: Philadanco is led by Joan Myers Brown, the founder of The Philadelphia School of Dance Arts in 1960 and The Philadelphia Dance Company (PHILADANCO) in 1970. The company was established to provide performance opportunities for Black dancers, who at the time faced systematic barriers to many local dance schools and had limited professional outlets. In 1988, Joan Myers Brown, together with the PHILADANCO staff, launched the first International Conference on Black Dance Companies with support from The Pew Charitable Trusts, University of the Arts, the Pennsylvania Arts Council, the City of Philadelphia, and the Coalition of African American Cultural Organizations.”

I heard of Philly Dance Fitness when I first moved to Philly in 2019 and I've been dancing with them ever since and in particular, the Bollywood Tech class on Wednesdays led by Antima. It's been a huge part of my Philly life. There are so many great things about Antima's class - the energy she brings, the energy of the class and of course, the incredibly fun dance routines that span so many different styles. It's evident Antima puts in a ton of effort into choreographing the varied and challenging routines, but she's also a fantastic teacher taking the time to step through the nuances of every step. Finally - the community she has created through this dance class is truly special and is a huge part of why I love these classes.

I’ve been a part of Philly dance fitness for almost 10 years now mainly because of my incredible experience being a part of Bollywood classes with Antima. Not only does she provide a great workout, but also a fun and encouraging atmosphere, great technique and choreography from all different styles of Indian dance, a sense of teamwork and community, and opportunities to showcase our hard work. Thank you Antima and Philly dance fitness for helping me continue my childhood passion of dance and most importantly for providing this family that is my favorite part of living in this city! 1000 stars.

So many great dance choices @Philly Dance Fitness! I’ve been dancing with them virtually during pandemic and loving the variety: hip hop, cardio, Bollywood and more. And they offer shorter “Express” classes as another great option. The instructors all make the dance experience fun fun fun and I highly recommend Philly Dance Fitness.

To address some other comments I've seen, Koresh Dance and their policies are on par with other dance studios I have been to. The front desk staff is always professional and never rude. Additionally, the 3 month time period to use 10 classes is very generous, but if you know you can't take class more than once a week, the class pass may not be a good fit for you. Having almost witnessed my home dance studio fold, it is important to realise that running a successful dance studio is neither easy nor cheap. Still, the pricing per class is very competitive, and they do offer discounted rates for students, etc. Especially for the caliber of teaching (I can only speak for ballet with Amy or Eva), the fee is more than fair. They provide some of the best adult teaching I've seen, and are comparable to big companies like the Atlanta Ballet or Washington Ballet.

This place is fantastic. I used to come about once a month for ballet classes before having my second child. Just went back yesterday for the first time in almost two years, and it was even better than before! Fang is an excellent instructor. I’m an adult who never took dance classes as a child, it’s strictly a hobby for me. But I felt included and like I could keep up with class.

We have been coming to Koresh for 6 or 7 years since my oldest was almost 3. The instructors have been great and talented. My kids enjoy taking lessons there. We always feel so welcomed by every staff.

The absolute best dance school in the tri state area to teach and train children the proper way of learning the dance art craft and to be successful human beings in life! My daughter went there for 15 years and graduated from this prestigious dance school!!! This dance school is totally awesome.

I love this place been here since 2009. Everyone is like family great dance studio and even better dance company. I recommend if you have children or even you're a dancer yourself philadanco/dance arts is the place to be
