This is a MUST-SEE if you are in Richmond. There is so much to explore-- from the dry rocks to the hiking trails to the suspension foot bridge. We were visiting Richmond for the weekend and hiked here one morning. It was flooded the day we came but when the water levels are normal, you can walk on the rocks out into the James River. Watching the rapids of the river is amazing. There's so much natural beauty, and the city has done a great job of preserving history. There's plaques to read about t

I came here for an afternoon walk with a friend and loved it. The trails are excellent and very easy to navigate. We parked but the Rec center and there was plenty of parking. I lived in richmond many years before I found this wonderful park. The 3 lakes are great. You can walk, ride bikes, even fish . The playgrounds are great for young and older children . And the best is the nature center where you can see turtles and fish and all that lives in the lake from a glass wall!! Children and adults love this park! The nature center is closed on Monday so go any other day !
