My favorite place! Seriously. Such a beautiful park, I love hiking or rowboating in the summer. Any activity here makes for a nice day, and it never fails to clear my mind and make me feel happy. I could do without the park fee in the summer... But its still worth it...

We came here over the summer for a graduation party and it was a great setting for it. Large playground area for kids, tons of green space for the grown ups to hang out, and clean bathrooms. In the past I have gone hiking here and the trails are great; very well-maintained and an easy hike for the beginners in our group.

Beaver Lake Nature Center is a wonderful little slice of nature, right in Syracuse's backyard. And though I've never seen a beaver, there's a lot I have. Deer, frogs, turtles, bunnies, snakes, birds (of many varieties) -- the place is like a zoo without cages. There's a striking diversity of trails, too. You can hike lakeside or through an evergreen forest. Over a bog via boardwalk, or through fields of tall grass and wildflowers. All the trails are well marked, and the map is easy to follow.
