Great little hiking trails in a heavily wooded, "old forest" atmosphere, right in the middle of UNCW's campus! there is also a lake there and it is peaceful. also i saw a pitcher plant. free parking. i think it's totally worth going to.
This place is great for a short walk. We had about an hour to spare. Perfect path for bikes. There's a pond and plenty of fresh air. This is one of my favorite walking trails.
Beautiful nature preserve on the campus of UNCW. Free parking nearby in lot M (parking lot with a gatehouse). Couple of trails and usually very peaceful.

SUMMER REST TRAIL REVIEWS
This is a breathtakingly beautiful area on the mainland side of the I.C. Waterway near Wrightsville Beach, N C. The few homes near here are big and beautiful.
The entire trail is quiet and shaded. The trail head can be found at the end of Summer Resting right off the Intracoastal Waterway. It's a great trail for a quick walk.
Perfect shaded paved trail wheelchair accessible kind of..the exit is a little steep.

JAMES E.L. WADE PARK REVIEWS
This is a nice neighborhood park. It is relatively small, but it does have bathrooms, water fountain, playground, and about 1/2 mile paved walking trail. There is also a bridge in the middle to take you across a pond. There are signs around explaining what types of things live in this environment. Parking is limited but it's the right amount of spaces for the size of the park. Good place to go for a short stroll!
Blown away by how fantastic it was. Parking was clean and ample. The walking trail was level and well paved. Best part? Soooo many turtles. Sliders and snappers were all over the place. Great to see so much wildlife tucked into such a small space.
A quiet little park with trails among the wetlands. Lots of wildlife to observe along a well kept walking path. Playground equipment and restrooms available. Easy parking.
