"Long Leaf Park offers an array of amenities and recreational opportunities for visitors' enjoyment. The park features six picnic shelters suitable for parties, picnics, and reunions. The park offers an outdoor special event rental space. Visitors can also partake in activities such as the Ninja Fitness Obstacle Course, an exercise station, a fully accessible playground, and a seasonal splash pad. Long Leaf Park includes four Little League baseball fields with lighting, four illuminated tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, and a full-size basketball court with lights. Long Leaf Park presents an excellent venue for leisure activities, where families can stroll along the trail, engaging in shared reading and interaction amidst the storybook settings. The park provides ample dog stations for convenience.

2026 Update: Long Leaf Park also features cycling lanes, barbecue grills, swings, slides and kid-friendly hikes."

LONG LEAF PARK REVIEWS

This park is absolutely amazing! Stunning pine trees are known for air purifying properties. Although I don’t have little kids I loved the playground they have built. Also a “playground” for big kids/adults. A very nice playground for dogs. There is a little pond with koi fish and turtles. I even spotted a Muscovy duck, which is native to Central/ South America, but domesticated in North America. I still can’t wrap my mind around it- what this exotic duck doing here? Alone in the park.

Long Leaf Park offers a variety of things. Though its serene nature and tall trees are in my opinion the focal point, it has a lot of other great qualities. This place has a beautiful place to hang out around a pond, pull up bars/workout area, a full on parkour-ish course, a large playground, two baseball diamonds, a basketball court, a dog park, and a splash pad area for kids. Lastly, there is of course, a beautiful winding walking/jogging trail surrounding the entire place. I really enjoy going here, and even though people are always here, it doesn't feel crowded. Stop by, especially if you're visiting the area.

Perfect Hammock hang out and never ending paths for adventures!! Dog friendly, family friendly. You name it. It's probably there !! Several walking paths, splash pad, multiple playgrounds, tennis courts basketball courts, veterans memorial, lakes, benches, trees. You have to experience longleaf Park.

OGDEN PARK REVIEWS

I love this park! There's a great playground for kids, lots of shaded areas to walk around in, and a pond full of turtles. They're super fun to watch. Remember, if you're going to feed the turtles, pick turtle appropriate foods. They'll come right up to you.

Love this park, it has multiple fields, two large dog parks, ponds that make good backgrounds for photos. Dog friendly, kid friendly. Great for a long walk through the trails.

Very beautiful! Amazing walk paths. Water/pond makes a cool breeze. Skate park, dog park, ball fields. Very clean.

HALYBURTON PARK REVIEWS

What I love most about this park is it’s undeveloped natural environment. The visitor center is full of educational activities and information about the wildlife and plants that are in the area. There a a few hiking trails & one that can be accessed by bicycle. There is a playground for the kiddos as well as picnic areas for lunch. The restroom facilities are clean and the park is dog friendly ! I highly recommend this park if you are in the Wilmington area.

I love Halyburton Park. There is a great walking/biking/running path paved all the way around the park. Along the path, by parking, they have a fire hydrant set up so dogs can get something to drink. And there are a few dog waste stations spread out. Behind the park office, there are Nature Trails winding through the woods which are not paved. There is plenty of shade in most areas.

Great for scenic walks and quiet time for introspection. It’s close to major roads but it seems like you’re in absolute wilderness! I love this park. Playgrounds are better at Hugh, but this park definitely wins on aesthetics!
