We just moved in the area and are looking for new trails to take the doggo for a run. Found this one on google maps, tried to go here last week but couldn’t figure out where to actually park and get there. Was looking at the trail map online and found out we had to go first to Eisenhower park then walk like 5mins to the trail (follow the train tracks towards the steel bridge and cross the small bridge on the left). The start of the trail is to the left of the Augusta water works building. It’s a beautiful trail with lots of shade. 13 mins from the entrance of the trail is a clearing where you can just sit in front of the river and enjoy nature.
It's a beautiful walk with the trail going between the river and canal, shady with lots of trees and wildlife everywhere. Off the main trail there is a smaller trail that runs along the river, areas with benches and picnic tables, and plenty of sights to keep the kids excited.
The new trail is amazing, I love to walk it, while my husband loves to ride it. Great job.
