Great state park! Known best for it's birding opportunities, this large park provides great opportunities to see the birds of the Rio Grande Valley. Rarities are found here every year, such as Tropical Parula, Roadside Hawk, Rose-throated Becard, Blue Bunting, and many more. The staff is friendly, helpful, and very knowledgable of the birds and other wildlife the park has to offer.
The best place to go to for an afternoon hike or bike ride. Miles of trails with benches and observation decks that allow the opportunity to view many different birds and wildlife. The visitor center has a gift shop, snacks and drinks and the staff are amazing. Bring plenty of water, bug spray is recommended.
Great place to go for a morning hike, bike ride, or an afternoon picnic with the family. Trails are well defined and clean, some of them have observation decks; they have benches and clear signs. There’s lots of trees and vegetation in the park and of course lots of birds and wildlife.
