Washington Park is huge, and a local favorite. We always see runners and dog walkers on the many paved trails. In seasons, you can hear the Carrillon or visit the rose garden. The path across the water is lovely, too. This last trip, we went sledding! There are several hills on the northeast side of the preschool building that were perfect for a toddler.
Washington Park is one of Springfield's best gems! We love going early in the morning and playing on the playground, walking the park, and enjoying the beautiful weather. One of our favorite features is a swing that fits a small child and adult. Our son loves to swing and this is perfect. They have a great area for young children and older children.
Nice place for a walk, jogging or running. Visit the Thomas Rees Memorial Carillon which is one of the largest and finest carillons.
