Very nice trails with a lot of wooden walkways over the water. A good place to walk your dogs and a fun walk for kids and adults with lots of pretty scenery.
Nice little trails. Didn't see too much wildlife the day we went, but did get to see a bird off in the water, a turtle and lots of dragonflies and butterflies.
This place is great! Plenty of walking trails abundant wildlife and a unique nature setting. Nice and quiet, even if there's a fair amount of people there.

WESSELMAN WOODS NATURE PRESERVE REVIEWS
We went to check out the new nature playscape. My kids had a blast! I've enjoyed hiking their trails and bird watching since I was little. But the new play area make it ok for my kids to run a little wild, build forts, and get dirty. They got to see and follow lizards and bugs, dig holes, splash in water, climb on rocks, and generally explore nature. It was completely worth the entrance fee of $5 per adult and $3 per kid to go!
I love this park. I have never felt unsafe here. The roadways are plenty wide so you can walk comfortably. LOTS of parking inside the park. Excellent wooded areas and picnic tables. Baseball fields, 3 par golf, beautiful hiking trails and of course the Nature Center and Preserve. Lots of folks walking for daily exercise, lots of dog walkers. Very popular park. Busy place in the summer time!
The only virgin forest of this size in the US within City limits, it is the best place to hike in the Evansville metro area. The trails are sufficiently long, although mostly flat. The deciduous forest is completely native with no invasive species. The nature center includes the best bird-watching area I have ever experienced.

EAGLE SLOUGH NATURAL AREA REVIEWS
Nice place to just walk. Haven't really explored much to see if you can actually find a nice place to fish. It was pretty muddy on the little bridge going into the wood from where it flooded. You can tell there ain't been no clean up crew or anything keeping up with the trails either. Nicely shaded and there's a cool old bridge that was Doug out they put a deck on. You can over look the what I would call swamp.
Eagle Slough provides a nice short hike close to town that provides wildlife viewing you would usually have to travel for. The gravel trail makes for easy walking. If you are quiet and look close it is full of wildlife. I've observed everything from otters to bald eagles here. The slough is there are times of the year it is inaccessible due to the Ohio River flooding.
A nice flat, short trail through the woods and wetlands. It was a nice walk and ended at an overlook looking out over the water.
