Wildneress has a multi-use trail system for bikers, walkers/runners and equestrian to share. The trails are all singletrack and great for beginning mountian bikers.. It's great having such a large wilderness area so close to Lincoln. We were looking for a place to walk with our dog and found this place on the map. It was on the opposite side of town from our motel, but Lincoln is small so it did not take long to find. Nice trails in a real woods setting.
I love Wilderness Park. It's not as maintained as Pioneer's Park, but if you want a place with extensive trails and a wooded environment this is the place. There are tons of opportunities for hiking, biking, and horse riding. A lot of the trails also go through old bur oak stands, which is an ecosystem that there isn't much of around Lincoln.
There are so many trails and so much space. The scenery is always beautiful, no matter which area you start at. I often see wildlife while I'm here and it's close to get to from home.
