“ Carrollton Black Cemetery is a historic cemetery associated with Carrollton's early African-American community. The place was a community cemetery on land belonging to African-American farmer Scott Boswell Sr in 1871. In 1915, C.B. Baxley acquired the cemetery and surrounding land. The cemetery was designated a Historic Texas Cemetery in 2010, and contains dozens of burials, with burial dates recorded from 1834 to 1960. Many volunteers, equipped with rakes, tree-trimming tools, paintbrushes, and trash bags, restored the black cemetery to a respectful and orderly state. ”

JOSEY RANCH LAKE LIBRARY REVIEWS

This library is in a great location. It has so many events for all different age groups. There is a play area and section just for young kids. Tons of study rooms are available. It even has free parking lot Wi-Fi. The library is clean and well maintained. I enjoyed looking at the books available and the different sections that they had. There is plenty of seating areas around the library. Some of the windows over look a beautiful lake nearby with many ducks. The library is connected to a walking trail. Definitely recommend looking into all the different events available.

Nice and spacious library with lots of variety in genres and ages. The children’s section is very large and there a plenty of computers to use in the main area. The study rooms are also comfortable. I enjoyed the fountain and walkway behind the library and there is even a small coffee shop before you enter for convenience.

Carrollton Public Library at Josey Ranch Lake is in one of my favorite parks. Beautiful trails, a lake, sports courts, and an open gym such an amazing place to relax and enjoy.

HEBRON & JOSEY LIBRARY REVIEWS

Good library for kids family and parents. Not all books you need is out there e.but its clean organized and fits some need of your reading ask. It's one of the few public libraries I see which is highly maintained and welcoming . I loved my first experience and I hoping it continues the same. Will definitely recommend this place for all readers.

Outstanding staff, very patient. When I couldnt find online access to some selections, they advised how anyone can sign up online with Houston Library which they didnt have to bother-go above nd beyond. Relaxing spot checking out the new magazine editions.

Very clean and organized library. The librarians and staff are nice and helpful if you need anything. They have a lot of current releases and great wifi as well. If you're looking for great wifi, a quiet area and clean space, this is a great spot.

CARROLLTON BLACK CEMETERY REVIEWS

A very humbling and historic site. It’s located right next to a commercial area and was locked when I visited. I think it should be accessible for people to visit, pay their respects and take in the historical importance of this cemetery.

We happened upon this lovely, tucked away, quaint cemetery. I'm glad we got to see it.

Very respectable place and a small landmark of historic culture in Carrollton.
