“Manistee Ranch was constructed by the prosperous lumber magnate Herbert W. Hamilton from Wisconsin. Manistee Ranch has secured a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. The four buildings on the property, including a garage, barn, office, and house, are open to the public, providing a glimpse into the history of Glendale. The farm machinery was mainly used for harvesting feed for the different livestock on the ranch, such as horses, cattle, sheep, ducks, and chickens. Additionally, Manistee Ranch provides picnic tables and seating areas for visitors to enjoy. Visitors can also explore the collection of pictures, old farm machinery, and objects from Glendale Grammar School that were used on the ranch.”
