" Old Courthouse Museum offers a dynamic history experience through informative and innovative exhibits, programs, rental spaces, and special events. The building was designed by local architect Wallace L. Dow and built from locally quarried quartzite, a common building material in Sioux Falls at the time. The Courthouse has three floors of public exhibit space that provide a colorful look at the region’s history. This beautifully restored quartzite building features a 165-foot clock tower, historical murals, and three floors of regional art. The Museum store includes unique and affordable Dakota-made gifts for the whole family. They offer free admission and wheelchair accessibility.

2026 Highlights: Old Courthouse Museum has three floors, and the second floor features the restored circuit courtroom and law library. The museum store is located on the first floor and features unique gifts, historic toys, books and souvenirs. "

" Battleship South Dakota Memorial was established in 1963. Diane Diekman, who grew up on a South Dakota farm, is a retired U.S. Navy captain, a published author, and the memorial's president. The mission of Battleship South Dakota Memorial in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is to preserve the history of USS South Dakota (BB 57) and its crew by operating a world-class museum. The Memorial draws visitors from all fifty states and around the world to view artifacts from the ship and its crew members. Visit the museum to see and learn more about USS South Dakota.
