I went on a free entry day. I really enjoyed walking around to see the mounds up close. It was a very nice day, so that made the experience even better. The area is wide open and there are not a lot of trees or shady spots, so keep that in mind if you go. The inside exhibits are currently being worked on, so if you are wanting to see that part you may want to call and see when that will reopen. For now they just have the gift shop and the mounds open.
Immerse yourself in the rich history of Native American culture at this historical site. Explore ancient artifacts, learn about traditions, and gain a deeper understanding of the indigenous peoples who once thrived here. It's a powerful and enlightening experience that offers a glimpse into the past.
A Native American historical site and a great trail system. Trails snake through the woods and around the levee offering a few miles of walking / mild hiking. Grounds and trails were well maintained and easily accessible.
