“The Ma Rainey House and Blues Museum is a former home of blues icon Ma Rainey, emphasizing local blues history exhibits and artifacts. The museum exhibits interpret the life and career of Ma Rainey and trace her history. The place has the lower Chattahoochee River Valley blues tradition, a region for which Columbus is the population and cultural center. Ma Rainey has been honored on a US Postage Stamp, in the GA Music Hall of Fame, and noted in “Georgia Women of Achievement” and “American Women of Achievement.” The museum is dedicated to showcasing local blues history exhibits and artifacts.
