“Shreveport Municipal Auditorium is one of the famous auditoriums in Shreveport, LA. The auditorium, designed by Seymour Van Os and Samuel G. Wiener Sr. of Jones, Olschner, Roessle, and Wiener of Shreveport, was dedicated to the Great War Warriors on Veterans' Day, then recognized as Armistice Day. In its early years, the hall was used as barracks for troops and housed the early aircraft warning system, commonly known as Radar. Additionally, the auditorium is a flexible venue for various events, including sporting events, touring acts, live local concerts, graduations, family shows, parties, and debutante balls. It was constructed in the 1920s and is renowned for its intricate brickwork and luxurious interior. It has been dubbed the most exemplary specimen of Art Deco architecture in Louisiana.
