Virginia State Capitol is a famous Historic landmark in Richmond, VA. The Capitol is the first Roman-style building to undergo restoration in America and the initial public construction in the United States to feature a classical temple design. The Historic landmark's design was a collaboration between Thomas Jefferson and Charles-Louis Clérisseau, with the former serving as the U.S. Minister to France when the plans were created in 1785. The interior of the building boasts remarkable designs, with the colors from 1910 being meticulously replicated in both the House and Senate chambers. The Capitol served as the Confederate States Capitol during the American Civil War and boasted an array of monuments throughout its 12-acre premises. In addition, Capitol Square's well-manicured public spaces feature numerous statues that honor a diverse range of notable Virginians, some of which have been recently dedicated.

Stumbled in to here almost by accident and joined a free guided tour, which I can only say is the best tour I’ve ever done. The guide was a super engaging and friendly woman who was clearly passionate about the subjects. Plus the history of this place! Wow! So much to see here. Absolutely recommend!
Beautiful grounds and surroundings. I loved it! This is really pretty and all these monuments are in the same place! Full of history, I loved strolling around here. I strongly recommend if you're going to Richmond.
Great experience! The tour guide was knowledgeable and interesting. The grounds are beautiful.

MAGGIE L. WALKER NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE REVIEWS
This is a small visitor center with some great rangers. Enjoyed chatting with one of the rangers about the local history and she gave directions for how to tour the area with the NPS app. This was a terrific walking tour since it covers a large part of the Jackson Ward. Enjoyed learning about the entrepreneurial spirit of the African American community in the Victorian era especially Maggie Walker. But the rest of the community was just as active and supportive. Definitely recommend if you're interested in Black history. Very educational.
Wow-I knew nothing about the history of Maggie L. Walker. Such an inspiration and empowering. We need to know about Black History and the women who changed history and paved the way for others. The tour guide, Gabriele, was knowledgeable and friendly! I recommend this 1.5 hour tour to everyone.
Highly recommend touring trailblazer Maggie Lena Walker's house. Like her, Mrs. Walker's house and electric car was a head of the time. I was very inspired by Mrs. Walker's life, brilliance, and resilience.

THE JOHN MARSHALL HOUSE REVIEWS
I toured the John Marshall here in Richmond. The tour guide was a young history student. She has a good understang of justice Marshall and the house and family. The house is from the 1700s and is made of brick.
We did a private tour with a group where we were searching for paranormal activity and got to visit all 3 floors. It was well worth the visit. I’m looking forward to going back.
We really enjoyed our tour. Haley was amazing. I learned a lot and was very fascinated learning about John Marshall.
