“Dr. Robert B. Hansen specializes in pain management. He obtained his medical degree from George Washington University and completed his neurology training at the Mayo Clinic, where he also pursued a fellowship in neurophysiology. He completed his residency at the prestigious Johns Hopkins Health System and pursued a fellowship at the renowned Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. After serving as assistant medical director and then medical director for Tidewater's only in-patient pain unit at Maryview Hospital, he accepted a faculty position at EVMS. Later, he left EVMS to establish a private practice neurology group called Southeastern Neurology. He is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has had NBMS subspecialty board certifications in Clinical Neurophysiology and Pain Medicine.
