I won the doctor lottery when I was referred to Dr. Uribe! Not only is he a dextrous surgeon known for his innovative work, he is also an incredibly caring communicator. He came prepared to my initial consultation, having read my chart and analyzed my MRI and EMG results ahead of time. He asked me questions, patiently listened, and even asked follow up questions. After that, he thoroughly explained my need for surgery and my two surgical options, along with their possible short & long term risks. Together, we decided a double fusion was better for me than disc replacements. I was very impressed with the hospital and all of the various nurses and doctors that contributed to my care. My C5-C7 (double) fusion, performed by Dr. Uribe along with Fellow Dr. Choy, was a huge success! My debilitating neuropathy, pain, and frequent temporary paralysis are gone! In the six weeks since my surgery, my pain has subsided, my incision has healed, and I have worked up from walking 15 minutes to 40 minutes a day. From the very beginning, Dr. Uribe has expressed serious concern for my well-being and won my complete confidence. This review cannot come to an end without me giving a huge shout out to Dr. Uribe’s Lead Medical Secretary, Briana! She went above and beyond to help me navigate schedules and insurance needs, all with an upbeat and friendly demeanor. She just makes things happen! Prior to seeing Dr. Chang I was experiencing severe pain and numbness in both legs when standing or walking. I could only be on my feet for no more than a few minutes at a time. Following a spinal decompression and spinal fusion surgery I no longer have any symptoms and can walk for several miles without any issue whatsoever. Dr. Chang was very professional, highly skilled and has a great bedside manner. In addition his office staff is likewise very professional and responsive. I have the utmost respect and confidence in Dr. Chang and his team.
