RANDALL PORTER, MD - BARROW BRAIN AND SPINE REVIEWS
I interviewed more than 8 neurosurgeons, from Barrow, to Banner to Mayo and 1/2 dozen more... None installed confidence in me more than Dr. Porter. From office visits with PA's that led to nothing, to pompous and arrogant neurosurgeons that thought they knew exactly what was needed but clearly wasn't interested or unable to communicate clearly and directly with me, to those surgeons, who in five minutes, shuffled me out of their office to the front desk to schedule my laminectomy. Not Dr. Porter. From the start, he was different; he brought up my MRI and slowly explained what he saw, allowing me to ask questions while patiently answering them. And his office and team were equally competent. It's a cliche to say Dr. Porter gave me my life back after 20 years of back problems. BUT HE DID! And three years later there is nothing I can't do, from skiing, to white water raftering to Yoga to flipping houses. THAK YOU DR. PORTER... for your medical knowledge, expertise, and skillful hands...
Dr. Randall Porter with the Barrow Clinic in Phoenix was recommended to me through a mutual friend to evaluate a back issue I contracted through golf. After close evaluation of my MRI's and an on-sight meeting with Dr. Porter we decided to move forward with a minor surgery. His conservative and thorough evaluation and recommendations were perfect. His calmness and honesty builds trust that gives me great confidence in his ability. If you're lucky enough to have the opportunity to meet with Dr. Porter, I'd highly suggest you take that opportunity.
I had both brain and spine surgery succesfully performed by Dr. Porter and his team. They were all the most caring and continue through my follow ups. The Barrow experience is unbelievable. Go there and request Dr. Porter.

JONATHAN HOTT, MD REVIEWS
Dr Hott, for me he is an angel sent from God, he saved the life of my daughter Daniela in 2015 after suffering a car accident. I always remember him over the years for being an excellent doctor. I wish that my God blesses him on his path and blesses his family at all times. I will return to Phoenix to the hospital to see if we can meet him and his staff again. Thank you Dr Hott .
My experience with Dr. Hott and Kelly have been nothing shy of incredible! I feel blessed to have been able to treat with him for my specific needs. I felt like he was listening to me throughout my entire journey. I’m happy to say that slowly but surely I am getting back to my old “self” and feel better each day. I cannot thank them enough for giving me a better today and a hopeful tomorrow!
Dr Hott is the absolute BEST surgeon, and he's also a wonderful, kind, and caring doctor. He truly listens, does everything he can to serve you as the patient, and has surgical skills which are unparalleled. If you are in need of neuruosurgery of any kind, I could not recommend Dr Hott more. He is a Godsend!!! Kelly, his Office Manager, is also truly amazing. Thank you both!

STEVE CHANG, MD - BARROW NEUROLOGICAL INSTITUTE REVIEWS
Dr. Steve Chang is very personable and highly professional. From the first time I met with him, I knew I was in good hands. I also felt that if I were to need surgery on my neck, Dr Chang would be successful with everything that was done. I was out of my previous pain I had suffered with for two years the minute I woke up in recovery. His follow-up appointment with me was encouraging and informative. I highly recommend Dr. Chang for any surgery you may need on your back or neck.
Prior to seeing Dr. Chang I was experiencing severe pain and numbness in both legs when standing or walking. I could only be on my feet for no more than a few minutes at a time. Following a spinal decompression and spinal fusion surgery I no longer have any symptoms and can walk for several miles without any issue whatsoever. Dr. Chang was very professional, highly skilled and has a great bedside manner. In addition his office staff is likewise very professional and responsive. I have the utmost respect and confidence in Dr. Chang and his team.
Dr. Chang came highly recommended. I had lived with low back pain for years. In September 2022 I received low back spinal fusion L4-L5. Three months post surgery and I am nearly pain free. My only regret is that I did not do the surgery sooner. I am very grateful to Dr. Chang and his entire staff. They were terrific from beginning to end. Thank you.
