He earned degrees in Biological Sciences and Economics, along with a minor in psychology, and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Shawn attended medical school at the Mayo Clinic, where he graduated with the highest honors. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. He completed fellowship training in sports medicine, with a focus on shoulder, hip, and knee surgery, at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
