Dr. Keith M. Baumgarten, a highly regarded orthopedic surgeon in Sioux Falls, received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is an accomplished sports medicine and knee and shoulder surgery specialist who completed his fellowship training in these areas. Dr. Baumgarten is a trailblazer in his field, as he is the first and only physician in South Dakota to be elected to the esteemed American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Society. Furthermore, he was the first fellowship-trained hip arthroscopy specialist to provide care for patients with hip pain in the state. During his residency, Dr. Baumgarten had the opportunity to work alongside the team physicians of prominent sports teams such as the St. Louis Rams, Blues, and Cardinals. Presently, he serves as the Head Team Physician for the Sioux Falls Stampede and the Sioux Falls Canaries, demonstrating his deep commitment to sports medicine. Dr. Baumgarten is a passionate advocate for improving the quality of orthopedic and musculoskeletal care. He now practices at the Orthopedic Institute, where he utilizes the most advanced techniques and technology available to provide his patients with the highest level of care possible.
