I'm sure most know by now about First Sunday, which means free admission to the Kidd, LASM, and LSU Museum of Art, and if you don't, now you do! We enjoyed a good hour of so looking at ship models, the Hall of Honors, and other interesting artifacts. We didn't go on the ship today as it was crowded, but it's always a great time when we do. If going on the ship with young ones, if you're going below deck, please be aware you might have to carry your kid as the stairs are steep!

The Baton Rouge Zoo is surprisingly awesome! I came here with pretty low expectations. I didn't think Baton Rouge would be able to support a zoo of any real size, but I was wrong. There are tons of animals here, it's a great place to walk around and enjoy a beautiful day and see some cool animals you might have never seen before. I was impressed by the elephants, giraffes, vultures and other birds of prey, alligators, zebras, and monkeys.

The Louisiana Art Museum was an eclectic presentation of Art, History and Science. I really enjoyed the planetarium presentation with the additional exhibits about our earth... There's an exhibit about egyptology, a wonderful introduction for children to science, plus a special presentation about trees ... Definitely something for everyone!
