USS KIDD Veterans Museum honors the men and women of the United States Armed Forces. This veteran battleship-turned-museum features exhibits on naval history, ship models, and memorials. The museum's Louisiana Memorial Plaza, with an everlasting flame, is a monument to all Louisiana members of the military killed in action, and a Corsair A-7E aircraft commemorates Vietnam Veterans. The museum relies on the assistance of its community to provide many programs and services for its civilian and veteran visitors. Louisiana's Old State Capitol was known as the Louisiana State Capitol until the new Capitol Tower was completed in the nineteenth century. The Historic State Capitol of Louisiana educates the public about Louisiana's rich past and the political process through exhibits, events, and the arts. The museum is devoted to encouraging active culture, advancing the arts, and preserving this National Historic Landmark. There is no entry fee for the building tour, and the audio guides are available for an additional charge upon request. Guided tours are available during weekday business hours and can be made accessible on Saturdays upon request. The guided tours can also include an interactive activity. Louisiana's Old State Capitol offers free admission for all visitors.
