USS Kidd (DD-661) is a destroyer of the Fletcher class, the very first U.S. Navy ship called after Rear Admiral Isaac C. This veteran battleship-turned-museum features naval history exhibits, ship models & memorials. Louisiana Memorial Plaza with an everlasting flame is a monument to all Louisiana members military killed in action, and a Corsair A-7E aircraft are commemorating Vietnam Veterans. Tour the museum to see the aircraft that flew through the skies of Southeast Asia during two eras of conflict, explore the dented helmet of an infantryman who stormed the beaches of Normandy, and so much more.

The Baton Rouge Zoo is a place where people are connected to animals. During the past 40 years, the Zoo has evolved to become Baton Rouge's number one year-round family attraction. With more than a quarter-million visitors per year, the Baton Rouge Zoo draws tourists of all ages and backgrounds. It is a favorite place for families and groups to discover the animal kingdom. The Baton Rouge Zoo was the first zoo in Louisiana to be awarded the remarkable honor of being approved by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The Zoo is quite engaged in conservation programs and fully participates with other zoos around the world in nearly 30 international Species Survival Plans (SSP) for critically endangered species. Baton Rouge Zoo organizes active outreach and in-house educational programs. This zoo plays home to animals from all over the world, including tigers, black rhinos, flamingos, alligators, and giraffes. Children ages one and under can visit the zoo by free admission.

Louisiana State Capitol is referred to as The State House. It is a Historical government building situated at the north boulevard in baton rouge, Louisiana. From the nineteenth-century, it is known as the Louisiana State legislature until the new capitol tower is completed the construction. The Historic State Capitol of Louisiana educates the public about Louisiana's rich past and the political process by exhibits, events, and the arts. The museum is devoted to the encouragement of active culture, the advancement of the art, and the preservation of this National Historic Landmark. There is no entry fee for the building tour, and the audio guides are extra upon request. Such guided tours are available during weekday business hours and can be made accessible on Saturdays on request.
