"Forest Community Park features soft gravel walking and running trails, boardwalk trails, and two pavilions available for rental. There is also a spacious playground for children with various slides, equipment, and climbing structures with synthetic surfaces. Children have ample space to play, while visitors can relax on numerous strategically placed benches. The park features plenty of benches where visitors can sit down to enjoy the outdoor environment. Furthermore, boardwalk trails are available through a section of the forest. The vehicular and pedestrian circulation throughout the park has been redefined, and the existing baseball/softball fields and the recreation centre have been improved.

2026 Update: Forest Community Park has large natural areas, walking trails, wetlands, and a pond. These eco-friendly elements help preserve wildlife habitats and reduce environmental impact. The park is recognized as a large regional-style recreation space designed for all-day family use rather than short neighborhood visits. It combines athletic facilities, leisure spaces, and nature experiences in one location. The park vastly improved its layout by separating foot traffic from vehicles, resulting in a much safer, more intuitive flow for visitors exploring the grounds."

2026 Update: Perkins Road Community Park is a major attraction, featuring a 30,000-square-foot concrete layout designed by California Skateparks. The facility accommodates skateboards, bicycles, inline skates, and rollerskates. The velodrome is one of the park’s most unique features. This 333-meter cycling track is among only a small number of velodromes in the United States and supports competitive cycling events where riders can reach high speeds. The park’s playground follows an “extreme sports adventure” theme, designed to reflect the overall energy and identity of the park."

CITY-BROOKS COMMUNITY PARK REVIEWS

Met some amazing people it was nice to meet someone new and friendly. My daughter doesn't have many children to play with and has had a tough time recently with a huge loss in our family and the children were patient with her and allowed her to play with them I love that so much it makes a mommas heart smile. She need that fun and childhood laughter. I hope the other children got as much as she did out of their meeting. The park is absolutely beautiful and well kept and we will return. I love how nice everyone was and all the parents were watching out for each others babies that's a community to be proud of.

Bring your family and a snack or just bring yourself! This is a really incredible park because it has a lot of open space for kids to run around in with shade. The jungle-gyms are pretty new and my kids like them. There are also a lot of walking paths that begin from here. So check it out.

Gorgeous place to walk, run, or bike. There is a picnic area across the street near the dog park, too. The tennis courts looked nice and there is also a golf course. Beautiful Oak Trees all around.

FOREST COMMUNITY PARK REVIEWS

Wonderful large park with a playground, splash pad, picnic pavilions, recreation building, restrooms, dog park, tennis courts, hiking trails, and other facilities. One of only a couple splash pads in Baton Rouge, this is a good park for keeping kids cool in the summer. The first trails tend to be very muddy in spring and wet weather, so wear boots. You can spot a variety of wildlife in the first trails including frogs and snakes.

One of our favorite parks! Lots of space for kids to run and play, and the playground is great any time of year. During the summer the splash pad is a wonderful spot to visit. There are lots of park benches and seats around the park, though I've frequently wished there were more benches surrounding the playground. The nature trails are also a big hit with my family.

Forest community park is a really nice family friendly park to include your fur family members. A great place to picnic, get a great workout in and just about anything else you might want to do at this park. There's a nice splash pad for the kids and the staff does an AWESOME job with the maintenance of the park. It's a place where you can go to relax and feel safe.

PERKINS ROAD COMMUNITY PARK REVIEWS

I love this park due to the size and location. We like to sit out and watch the kickball games, which are fun. Bring your blankets to enjoy the bigs shade trees. I love the wildlife also. This place is always clean from the parking lot to the walking trails to the restrooms. Stop by and have a little fun. This park is for everyone! Skaters, bikers, hikers, photographers, athletes, runners, walkers, rock climbers, picnicers, explorers, moms, dads, children, there's a spot for you here. There are restaurants that you can walk to safely. The park is clean and very family-friendly.

An awesome place roaming around to pass leisure time. One can also walking or jogging inside the park without any cost leaving their childrens playing at the playground.
