“Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo operates year-round to care for over 100 species of animals, some of which are critically endangered and at risk of extinction. The facility's focus on education, conservation, recreation, and animal welfare is made possible through the generosity of community partnerships. This state-of-the-art facility is fully accredited, and it aims to instill a sense of awe and wonder in visitors for the natural world, as well as engage them with the beauty and strength of the animals in their collection, inspiring them to take action in preserving endangered species and their habitats. These partnerships provide financial contributions, volunteer hours, sponsorships, corporate giveback days, in-kind donations, and other support means, which the Zoo highly values. With over 300 animals on display, primarily from North and South America, visitors can enjoy an hour or an entire day at the Zoo. Free admission for ages 0 -1.”
