USS LEXINGTON MUSEUM REVIEWS
Excellent place to visit! Plan for several hours if you want to see everything. It is HUGE! The film that runs every hour on the hour is very good. The Pearl Harbor exhibit has a great short history experience. Lots to explore throughout the ship...a bit of information overload. I bet you could spend days here and still find new things. The lower levels definitely have an odor that seemed to bother some, but it was worth it to see all of the cool things there. Overall an amazing place, with good workers and volunteers to help even more with the experience.
Was super cool to visit this while on our trip from Denver to Corpus Christi. The self guided tours are perfect and there is so much to see. Loved the fact you could still see the captains quarters, where the ropes were kept and the different planes that used that carrier in its prime. The gift shop had tons to choose from. Picked up a few coins while we were there. It's absolutely beautiful at night all lit up as well. Got engaged right next to it with its illuminating blue lights in the background!
This was a fantastic surprise! I knew my WWII history buff husband would love it, but I was also highly entertained. I put more steps in on the five different tours than I would at any other attraction. There is something for everyone. Appropriate for all ages as long as you're mobile and not afraid of steep stairs/ladders. There are so many different exhibits and attractions. We could have spent the whole day! This whole attraction is very organized and very well done. I highly recommend!

TEXAS STATE AQUARIUM REVIEWS
Fairly large aquarium with plenty of animals to see. There are a lot of touching stations too. You can touch stingrays, crabs, jelly fish. They also offer animal encounters. We had 4 in our group participate in Snorkeling with sharks. They enjoyed it and said it was cool to see sharks up that close. The otters are fun to watch run around and play, they have a slide. Lots of parking available but you have to pay. There is a splash pad for kids. Restaurants and snack bars are on the grounds but beware they are expensive. The gift shop is also very expensive. We tried to watch the dolphin show but it fills up so early we never got a seat. I recommend buying your tickets online so you don't have to wait in the ticket line.
This place is great! Lots of amazing creatures to see and several great things for kids to do. The workers were all outstanding and they seem to care greatly for the animals. Bonus, there is a splash pad for when it gets hot...bring your swimsuits and towels. Do NOT miss the dolphin show, but make sure you get there really early if you want a place to sit! The 4D theater was very cool as well.
Was a very cool experience. They have really changed alot since the last time I was there. They have a ton of educational exhibits. You can also visit the rescue center which is really something else to be able to see. I would recommend buy tickets online to avoid a wait. Also make sure you get a parking token so you can get out of the parking lot when you leave.

SOUTH TEXAS BOTANICAL GARDENS & NATURE CENTER REVIEWS
A Nature-filled and inexpensive experience to have with the family. The trails had a variety of plants and beautiful garden displays. The butterfly room and live encounters with Flakes the snake and the Macaws were the highlight points of our trip. The staff were very educated and friendly. Personal encounters are available and must be set-up in advance. The website is update to date on their current events. We plan to visit again during the fall. The gift shop offers the chance to buy unique items for garden and nature lovers.
We enjoyed our visit. The Macaw was really cool to interact with, and I actually wasn't expecting to see different types of animals. It was very hot outside, but there are a few places where you can hide out in the shade between walks. The scenery was nice and the plants were well kept. We liked the orchid conservatory and even brough a little orchid home with us!
This was well worth the visit. The orchid house alone was fantastic. There are trails to walk through wild life areas too. There was a great display of artistic birhouses from local artists!
