Garland Landmark Museum is a quaint museum in a historic Santa Fe railway depot dedicated to local history and cultural heritage. The museum was opened when the old depot was declared a historic landmark in 1974. Garland Landmark Museum contains artifacts from early settlers, old newspapers, farm tools, and quilts. The museum's collection, representing decades of diligent solicitation effort, focuses on the period between 1850 and the present. Here, volunteers plan and work on projects, including displays and the fundraising required to support them. The staff in the museum are friendly and informative. Special arrangements can be made for private group tours as well as private appointments for the at-risk population.
