It was opened when the old depot was declared a historic landmark in 1974. Garland Landmark Museum contains artifacts from early settlers, old newspapers, farm tools, and quilts. Its collection, representing decades of diligent solicitation effort, focuses on the period between 1850 and the present. Here, volunteers plan and work on projects, including displays and the fundraising required to implement them. The staffs in the museum are friendly and informative.
