“ Gilbert Riparian Observatory was created by the Gilbert Rotary Club to mark Rotary International's 100th anniversary. The observatory was built with private funds and was gifted to the town. The observatory is managed by Gilbert Park and Recreation as part of the riparian preserve at the Water Ranch. Volunteers operate the Gilbert Rotary Centennial Observatory from the East Valley Astronomy Club. Hubble has modernized astronomy not only for astronomers but also for the general public. The stunning close-up of the Horsehead Nebula reveals the fragile tendrils of gas and dust in this area of star formation. An outburst of light from the latest stars becomes visible at the top. " Gilbert Historical Museum aims to celebrate the past, inspire unity of all people, and cultivate life-enriching collaboration. The museum is the only National Register of Historic Places listing the earliest buildings in Gilbert. The Gilbert Historical Society has been in existence since 1960 and was founded in 1979, but had no formal structure to call its own. Gilbert Historical Museum has been at the heart of the Gilbert community since 1982. When the school closed in 1977 and the building became accessible, the Historical Society rented it, and the Gilbert Historical Museum is committed to protecting the past, shaping the present, and contributing to East Valley's prosperity. Make sure you don't miss their patio, packed with genuine farm equipment, some of which dates back to the earliest days of Gilbert. The museum offers free admission for children under the age of 5.

GILBERT RIPARIAN OBSERVATORY REVIEWS

Stopped at the Riparian to see the sunset. By chance, the observatory was open (Friday and Saturday nights). We were able to view Jupiter and four moons. Local astronomy group was out also and allowed us to look at a nearly full moon up close. Friendly people and fun event.

Amazing views of the stars in our galaxy. I love going on the community nights when multiple people have their telescopes on the lawn, allowing you to view different parts of the sky. They also share knowledge and information that is truly fascinating.

Fantastic!! They had videos to watch with some awesome facts. This is free, which was nice. They do take donations. If you're able to pass some extra change, it's definitely worth sharing. They give a great presentation.

GILBERT HISTORICAL MUSEUM REVIEWS

We all drive by this place on the Southwest corner of Gilbert Rd and Elliot and we all say to ourselves “we should stop by someday”. Well, the day finally came for me and my family and it was well worth it. There is so much to learn about the town’s history in this museum.

I adore this museum! It was my initial visit and I found it notably intriguing to explore the history of my own locality. The staff members I encountered were exceptionally warm and helpful. Overall, it was a delightful visit.

Cool little museum to learn about the history of Gilbert. My wife and I were there about an hour and it was not very busy. The employees (volunteers) were very kind and helpful. Would recommend.

HALE CENTRE THEATRE REVIEWS

We went to A Christmas Carol on Christmas Eve and it was absolutely wonderful!! The cast was amazing, I got goosebumps and a lump in my throat at times. I love Hale Theater, you get immersed in the production with action all around you. We sat on the north side of the theater although all seats are great, I would sit on the south side next time as there are a couple small stages on the north side that the performers use so if you sit on that side you have to turn around to see. Not really a big deal, they didn’t use it a lot, just a couple scenes.

My wife and I went to see A Christmas Carol for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. The performance was very well done. I was a little concerned with it being a center stage on picking where to sit, but was pleasantly surprised at how well they cover a full 360 performances. We sat on the South side and I was very happy. We hope to come back with our kids.

Wonderful venue! It’s quite small, so it would seem they are all good seats. It’s very interesting to see how they manage the sets and the blocking for a theater in the round. I saw The Scarlet Pimpernel, and the cast, costumes, sets, and singing was amazing. Very well done. Also, easy parking in the lot across the street to the west of the theater.
