I have passed this attraction everyday for the last 14 years that I have lived in Hampton. I finally stopped one day and was pleasantly surprised. Seeing the planes and other aircrafts up close was impressive. It gives the locals a lot of pride knowing how big a part Hampton played in the air throughout the years. What I didn't realize was that the small building in the middle of all the aircrafts was actually a small museum. It is jammed packed with memorabilia and models.

This place was great! A lot of models, suits, plane parts and equipment to look at. There was a lot of simulators to interact with and tons of stuff for the kids to do. My husband even got a picture of me sitting inside a plane. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here. It was very educational. I think it took us about 2-2 1/2 hours to get through it. There really wasn't that many people there which was very surprising. This is definitely one cool place and I recommend you check it out.

I toured the museum with my 17-year-old daughter (her idea!). We enjoy history, and had been walking around the area around the museum visiting some of the historic sites. The woman on duty was very friendly and helpful (even asking if we had AAA to get a $1 discount). The museum has an excellent overview of the history of the city, and many authentic artifacts on display. The tour is self-guided, but there are many explanatory plaques recounting the history of the city and each artifact.
