“Clark County Museum is a 30-acre site that features a historical display of Southern Nevada from the past to modern times and a collection of restored older landmarks. From the 1910s to the 1970s, Heritage Street homes have provided a glimpse into the past. Mining Trail provides a glimpse into life in the hot and arid climate of the Southwest. The museum has represented the history of Clark County residents for more than 50 years. Clark County Museum's display includes baskets, arrowheads, stone tools, and other crafts from the native Paiute region. Heritage Street features a notable collection of heritage buildings that have been renovated to recreate significant lifestyles from various periods in local history. Take time to learn about the earliest inhabitants of the area. The black and white photographs on the walls give tourists a sense of the incredible development. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the history.”

THE LION HABITAT RANCH REVIEWS

This was our second time visiting and my daughter and I had a wonderful time! We arrived at 11 AM on a Thursday morning and checked in conveniently at the trailer in front. I’m so happy that it’s such an intimate experience. Speaking with staff and volunteers is very pleasant, everyone makes you feel welcomed. The timing of the feedings allows us to watch the big cats get excited and show off a little. We had a great time watching these majestic beasts as well as the other animals at the habitat. I’d go again in a minute! Thanks to Jim for taking time to show us some of his personal collection of habitat odds and ends.

This place was a highlight to my Vegas trip. I was trying to find a zoo like place to take my grandchild and this habitat was the best found place. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with greatness. Our favorite person was Jim. He was so knowledgeable, gave us lots of great information on the habitat, on the animals and he had great information on the lions that we did not know. Jim even took great photos for us to have memories with our grandchild. I would hands down, go here again. Worth the trip.

This was such a nice place to visit! The animals were well taken care of and it was clean. We saw lions, a tortoise, and birds. We truly enjoyed this time. We got to see them feed the lions and heard from quite a few lions also. They have plenty of shade and seating. It's a smaller place, but we would definitely recommend it.

CLARK COUNTY MUSEUM REVIEWS

Awesome historical spot to explore! We’ve been there twice now. The first time was when they reopened in spring 2021 during the pandemic (we visited late spring). Back then, access was limited, and we couldn’t get into some parts of the historic houses as they were blocked off. We stayed for about 1.5 hours since it was quite hot. The second time, in winter 2024, everything was back to normal, plus cooler temps, and we got to dive deep into the history of Clark County/Las Vegas. We spent around 3.5 hours on that visit. Definitely a must-see if you’re in town, and it’s affordable too.

Great place to visit and well worth the two dollar admission price! Lots to explore. I especially liked the historic houses set up in the time periods they represented. We visited during the holiday season and I enjoyed that everything was decorated for the holidays.

What an awesome place! I was prepared to pay the entry fee, but it is free now! I loved seeing the train and all of the houses. It was interesting to see what homes in the 1920's looked like. I will definitely go here again if I have the chance.

HENDERSON BIRD VIEWING PRESERVE REVIEWS

Free and serene. We were able to get upclose to many of the birds (compare to many other birdwatching places where it's difficult to view without binoculars. The ranger said the warming weather trend is encouraging a lot of the migratory birds to just stay there through winter. He said a good time to go is March. Free admission, though be mindful of their early-closing hours and be sure to get back and before closing time. All visitors must check-in first. It's good to get some exercise and kill 2 hours here if you are nearby or as a side trip to thr Wetland Park nearby.

It's great for a stroll or just watching all the native and migratory birds that are in the preserve. Make sure you bring a hat and water too, binoculars if you want to see all the birds up close.

Wonderful wildlife/bird preserve! The staff were helpful & nice from the front desk on. The preserve is clean & beautiful, many ponds with a variety of birds, butterflies turtles & even a gorgeous non-venomous snake crossed the path we were on (I was too slow to get a pic, but it was a rosy-peach color, really beautiful!) we saw paw prints of raccons, & on one path a goose had much to say (we noticed goslings a few feet away under a bush). We were careful not to disrupt this beautiful preserve, & enjoyed seeing the variety of wildlife. We'll go back next time we're in Henderson.
