McCullough Hills Trailhead is a heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Henderson, offering picturesque views and is rated moderate. The path leads south from the McCullough Hills TH underbuilding at the end of Mission Blvd (will have water and toilets), crosses the edge of the hillcrest. The point of departure for cycling & equestrian trail with restrooms, horse tie-ups, and picnic table. You can see lots of bikers, and there are dirt bikes, ATVs, and side-by-sides from access to the East. The trailhead includes a toilet and a drinking fountain. For most people accustomed to walking many miles, the gradient over the Black Mountain Hills is moderate and passable. Public parking is available and includes horse-trailer vehicle spaces.

Whitney Mesa Nature Preserve contains several special geological points, an active stream and a range of flora and fauna. The facilities include a 1-mile trail (including an open ADA portion) and centers and kiosks for interpretation. Mesa Outdoor Science Workshop, offering student educational opportunities throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Nature Preserve is a family-friendly, 6-acre fun. The 1-mile trail (one part of which is accessible by ADA) passes through a babbling brook and takes you up the Henderson mesa for breathtaking views. You can see the sunset or the rising is an excellent location.
