This place is AWESOME!! We went in right as it opened, which is the way to go. It's a little pricey at $19.95, but I think it was definitely worth it. You'll have to make several passes around to see the full spectrum of the butterflies they have (which vary seasonally). You need to be patient, too, as the butterflies won't always open their wings when it's slightly overcast. It's an indoor facility, and fairly humid inside, but the sun shines through.

This muesuem exceeded my expectations. Which is nice. The tour started out with an exhibit of a number of artist from the Santa Fe/Taos area. There six to seven paintings from each with a number of fantastic paintings. Also, on the first floor were numerous exhibits from the old west, including displays of guns, saddles, gambling and even handcuffs! As great as the paintings downstairs were, I liked the exhibits upstairs even more.

Wonderful art museum! I had honestly resisted for several years (My parents live in Paradise Valley, and I visit a few times a year) because I didn't know what to expect. This December, I finally went on a Thursday, when they have free admissions, and it was incredible! The James Turrell piece was very meditative, particularly the subtle color and light shifts that happen over minutes and the dramatic shifts that happen over hours.
