They just opened about a month and a half ago and it can be crowded there. To skip the crowd, I suggest getting free timed entry tickets. The museum is cool, you can learn about aviation and space history on your visit here. I love the new exhibits and the remodeled museum. Some parts are yet to open but you should still go. An amazing museum and a must go-to in DC!
Half of the museum is still under construction but that doesn't detract from the masterfully crafted exhibits. Make sure to grab tickets online the day before because of timed entry requirements. The line outside moves quickly and there is tons of air and space inside. Even better are the exhibits surrounding the Wright Brothers, advancement in flight, and the Apollo 11 command module. You can see the Spirit of St. Louis as it awaits the exhibit. Even some Star Wars and Star Trek references. You are going to enjoy this!
We went with my family and to friends the newly renovated Smithsonian Air and space museum. Very cool. Don't miss out on the planetarium. Wonderful and with the ticket price. If you go, you must get timed tickets from the website or they won't let you in. Go and enjoy.
