SAWYER POINT PARK REVIEWS
This park is wonderful to walk and enjoy the view. It has an area for kids to play, although small, sand volley ball courts which you can reserve, live music through out the summer and just over all a wonderful park. It is down the way from smale park which is more popular due to its walking distance to restaurants, but this park is a nice alternative as it tends to be less crowded.
I took my 2yo son here and he had a blast. There is a fairly large playground with swings and a massive jungle gym. Plenty for him to do and two volleyball courts for him to play in sand as well. It is also right next to the trail so we can watch barges going down the river. The only caveats I'd have is that it is under a bridge so there is a constant hum of highway noise and because of the location it is in the shade which can make it colder than the temp would indicate. The bathrooms are also seasonal.
The city has done so much to pump some life into this area. It looks great and is a great place for the family to enjoy. My family and I love coming here.

FERNBANK PARK REVIEWS
Fernbank Park is wonderful! I go there often to walk on the trail which is paved and scenic. Restrooms are clean and parking is plentiful. There is usually a nice breeze off the river and seating along the river side to watch the barges pass. There is also a nice playground for the kiddos. When the weather is nice, there is a brewery and a restaurant on the other side of the road open spring and summer for lunch and dinner.
Lovely park with a nice walking trails, easy parking, nice playground for the kids and views of the river.
One of my favorite places to go for a walk on the paths near the river or on the wilderness trail. A great park!
