Apollo Park is a clean and hygienic park located in Downey, CA. It is a nice place to play basketball and just sit while your kids play with the swings. The park is covered by a green space with a playground, BBQs, ball diamonds, indoor and outdoor athletic courts and restrooms. They've added three carousel-shaped lighted patios; each one has seven picnic table handicap friendly, three barbecues and prepping tables, plus a trashcan for each one. Apollo Park is best for sports and working out, and you can get pretty busy on the weekends because of the teams that play there, but during the week, it's pretty calm. Park staff can better manage larkers, young adults, and teens. Apollo park used to be nice to the people all the time.

APOLLO PARK REVIEWS
Nice park with a running trail. Kids playground. A gym for basketball and body weight machines to work out. Pull up bar as well. Looked clean and calm when I went in the evening
Very nice park with newer playground amenities. Nice new turn installed. Tons of room and parking. Very close to the gym and historic society.
Great local park. Wish they had a tarp over the kids playground to provide more shade for the kids playing. The slides can get really hot

Furman Park is an awesome public park located in Downey, CA and it has over 15 acres of parkland, and sports such as baseball and tennis can be played at this public park. The park is an excellent, quiet little park for bike riding and hanging out. The park consists of three different playgrounds for kids of different ages, plenty of running space, and the whole park is gated off. It also has exercise equipment along the walking trail, and the trail starts by the parking lot for older children, including adults. It is the best park for the kids, has two separate play areas for different age groups, and has many swings and slides. Furman Park has a fitness section for teens and adults and plenty of open space. The recent upgrades and renovations to the park, specifically the renovations to the playground structures, look great. Water can be obtained from a water fountain adjacent to the trail. Restrooms are conveniently located near the basketball court in the central part of the park.

FURMAN PARK REVIEWS
Love this place. Summer concerts in the park, nice walking/jogging trail, workout equipment, tennis, basketball, baseball courts even space for some futbol, volleyball.. you name it if you have the imagination. It's a park I don't want to miss, i hope that makes sense.
A flock of budgies made my day. They are so happy. A variety of trees and well done landscaping put this park above the typical park. Kudos to Downy!
The park is clean and I like the walking trail. Plenty of space to sit and relax or you can play tennis. I will definitely come back.
